- Is Readest free?
- Yes. Readest is open source and free software under AGPL-3.0. The Free Plan gives you sync across your devices, 500 MB of cloud storage, 10,000 characters of AI translation a day, AI read aloud, and control over fonts, layout and theme.
- What do Plus and Pro add?
- Plus takes cloud storage to 5 GB and translation to 100,000 characters a day through DeepL Pro. It also lifts the cap on AI read aloud hours and unlocks every customization option, and your support requests jump the queue. Pro raises the same two limits to 20 GB and 500,000 characters, and adds early access to new features and advanced AI tools.
- What is the Lifetime plan?
- A one-time payment instead of a subscription. You buy only the piece you need, either extra cloud storage or the full set of customization options, and it stays on your account. Storage purchases stack, so each one adds more space.
- Does my plan work on every platform?
- Yes. Your benefits are tied to your Readest account rather than to the device you bought them on. Sign in on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android or the web reader and everything you paid for is there.
- What happens if I cancel?
- Your plan runs to the end of the period you already paid for, then the account goes back to Free. Downgrading won’t delete your books. Books on your devices stay put, and books already in Readest Cloud remain available to download even if you’re over the free 500 MB storage limit. What pauses is uploading new books above that limit, and syncing through a third-party cloud, which needs a paid plan.
- I subscribed in the App Store or on Google Play. Can I manage it here?
- No. Apple and Google bill those subscriptions themselves, so change or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. If you subscribed on this site instead, sign in and manage it from your plan on this page.
